Susan Reeves Howell, age 75 of Lebanon, passed away on October 10, 2023. The Funeral Service, conducted by Brother Denman Frazier, is 11 a.m. Thursday, October 12, 2023 in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the service at 11 a.m.
Susan Reeves Howell was born in Atlanta GA to Francis Bower and Ed Reeves. She taught Spanish and English for more than 35 years and was named Exemplary Educator by the U.S. Department of Education. Mrs. Howell was one of the leading experts for ESL, English as a Second Language, and was one of the national consultants in that field. She loved to travel, especially cruises with her husband, and enjoying the world. She enjoyed reading. Mrs. Howell and her family worshipped at Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Lebanon.
Mrs. Howell is survived by her husband of 55 years, Robert Howell, son Chase Robert Howell, and grandchildren Knox Robert Howell and Dylan Grace Howell. She is preceded in death by her parents Ed and Francis Reeves, sister Nancy Reeves Finley, and brother Lewis Reeves.
