Susan Kathleen Hogue
SEPTEMBER 13, 1955 – DECEMBER 29, 2022

Susie, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, returned home to her Father in

heaven on 29 December 2022, Huntsville, Alabama. Susan was born on 13 September 1955 in

North Tonawanda, New York, to her parents, Francis and Joanne Bauder. Susan is survived by

her beloved husband, Billy Hogue, and their three children, Amon (Erin), Isaac (Teena), and

Rebekah (Scott), as well as 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by

her 7 siblings: Barbara, Michael, William, Thomas, James, Stephen, and Christopher.

After living in New York, Susie’s family moved to Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada, then to

Maryland, and finally settled in California, where Susie met and married the love of her life,

Billy. There Billy and Susie raised their 3 children until 1989, when the family ventured across

the country to Huber Heights, Ohio. Living and working there until 2002 when Billy and Susie

moved to Southhaven, Mississippi, and finally to Huntsville, Alabama. Susie wouldn’t miss the

opportunity to share her love for Jesus with those she befriended in every place they lived.

Professionally, Susan worked as a Physical Therapist Assistant at various healthcare facilities in

Ohio, Tennessee, and Alabama. She helped patients recover from illness and injury to regain

dignity and independence.

Susan loved and was deeply committed to the Lord and to her family. She took every

opportunity to spend time with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored.

She dedicated her time to volunteering in many capacities at every church she attended. Susie

volunteered at various ministries and organizations, such as Street Reach and Operation

Christmas Child. She loved children and believed that every person was made in the holy image

of God and that all life was precious in His sight.

She loved fresh air and sunshine, never missing an opportunity to get outside. She was humble

and selfless, ministering and bringing joy to everyone who knew her, showing concern and

offering encouragement to those she encountered each day. She will be greatly missed by all.

The legacy of her strong faith in Jesus will live on in her husband, children, grandchildren,

siblings, extended family, friends, and everyone who was blessed to meet her.

She attended church at the Brook in Madison, Alabama.

In lieu of flowers, family and friends are encouraged to make a memorial donation to

Compassion International, Samaritans Purse or Street Reach Ministries, Christian ministries that

were close to her heart.

Services will be held on 5 January 2023 at The Brook, 8573 Highway 72 W, Madison, AL 35758
