Susan K. Muether passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on July 22, 2021. She is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, John M. Muether, her two daughters, Jean (Warren) Sweeney and Avery Haynes, and her daughter-in-law, Kristine Muether. She was preceded in death by her son, John M. Muether Jr. Susan was blessed with seven grandchildren, Michael Thompson, Noah Thompson, Erika (Chad) Shiver, Avery Muether (fiancé Colin Weis), John (Kate) Muether III, Ellie Haynes, and Sam Haynes, as well as seven great-grandchildren. Susan, aka Grandma or Mamaw, was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and deeply cherished friend to many. Her granddaughter, Ellie summed it up perfectly, “If you knew her, you loved her.” At her request a private memorial service will be held later this summer. A special thanks to our Avalon Hospice Care team, Nurse Robin Wood and CNA Kayla Brown, and to her caregivers, Martha “Amazing Grace” Taylor and Sandra McNeal.
