Susan Glandon went to be with the Lord on March 31, 2023 after an extended illness. Susan is survived by her husband of over 16 years, Doug Glandon; mother, Beverly Reidner (Joe) of Sutter, Illinois; brother Gerald James (Kathy) of Sutter, IL and their children Erin (Jason and son Johnny) of Quincy, IL and Mark of Macomb, IL; daughter Cara Rice (Shawn) and their children Aiden, August, Ashland, Cate, and Ada of LeRoy, IL; father-in-law Jack Glandon (Martha) of Huntsville, AL; sister-in-law Amy Bozeman (Billy) of Huntsville and their children Riley (Noel) of Murfreesboro, TN and Abby of Huntsville. She was preceded in death by her father Jerry James.

Susan was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and visited them as often as possible. She loved being part of her grandchildren’s lives as they grew older, making sure not to miss special events in their lives.

She was also a devote Christian and took her faith seriously. She took every opportunity to practice her faith, always giving to strangers and people in need. Susan also supported Meals-on-Wheels, delivering meals to the elderly. She truly had a servant’s heart.

Susan graduated from Western Illinois with a degree in Communications. After graduating from college, she began a long career in the automotive business culminating in owning her own business as an auto broker in Huntsville. Susan’s education and outgoing personality made her a natural at meeting people’s automotive needs. She prided herself in a “no nonsense” selling philosophy which led to many repeat customers.

Susan enjoyed the outdoors, especially hiking and the ocean. She was walking and climbing the trails around Huntsville and the surrounding area every opportunity she had. She also enjoyed walking on beaches and enjoyed the ocean. When visiting her family in Illinois in the springtime, she would go mushroom and arrowhead hunting with her brother Gerald.

In memory of Susan, the family will host a Celebration of Life for Susan in Illinois for family and close friends at a later date.
