FLORENCE – Enrollment at the University of North Alabama for Summer 2021 has broken previous summer enrollment records, and it marks the tenth consecutive term of growth on campus. The Fall 2021 enrollment outlook is strong, according to University administration, and a new scholarship has been created with transfer students in mind.

“The Summer 2021 enrollment is a nearly four percent increase from Summer 2020 and a nearly

30 percent increase since Summer 2019,” said Dr. Ross Alexander, Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs. “All enrollment indicators for the fall semester are extremely positive. This growth is critical for the ongoing health and vitality of the University of North Alabama, and it is something about which we should be very proud as so many other peer institutions continue to struggle as the pandemic wanes.”

Summer enrollment growth was particularly strong in online graduate programs, and online undergraduate programs also thrived. UNA is almost exclusively online during summer semesters.

Students interested in attending North Alabama in the fall are encouraged to apply for the Fall 2021 semester begin Aug. 18. Further, UNA has created a new award specifically designed for transfer students and their degree completion.

“The Transfer Opportunity Scholarship is a new award being offered to all transfer students,” said Julie Taylor, Executive Director of Admissions and Enrollment Innovation. “It’s a $1,500 peryear award, renewable for two years. Students are automatically considered with a 2.0 transferrable GPA and 30 transferrable hours.”
