Sue Sims, age 83, of Boaz, passed away on August 21, 2024, at her home in Boaz. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Adams Brown Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place at Pleasant Hill #2 in Guntersville on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 2 p.m., officiated by Jeff Sims and Joel Sims.
Sue is survived by her loving daughters, Janice “Denise” Sanders, Cecilia “Cia” Stephens, Susan (Jerry) Sharp, and Misty Sims; cherished grandchildren, Austin Hendrix, Erica (Thomas) Polk, Bradley (Cheyene) Weaver, Brian (Meg) Weaver, Maddie (Dakota) Tims, and Mason Naler; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Ayden Weaver, Savannah Weaver, Baylor Polk, Scarlett Weaver, Maggie Weaver, Riggins Polk, Addison Weaver, and Wyatt Polk. She also leaves behind her sisters, Betty Cornelius, Irene (Bruce) Miller, and Jan (Danny) Johnson; and brother Carl (Wanda) Shirey, and a host of cherished nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Earl Sims, her parents, John Cisroe and Erma Ione Shirey; her sister, Elaine Partridge; and brother-in-laws, Oscar Partridge and Tim Cornelius.
A devoted Christian lady, Sue loved playing cards, solving word searches, and traveling, especially enjoying annual trips with her sisters. Her family was her greatest joy, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
