Sue Silver

Sue Silver, age 84, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away in the hospital with family on October 7, 2023 after a stomach aneurysm. Sue was born on January 2, 1939. Sue was a native of Ramah, TN. Sue and Stanley Walter Silver married in 1959 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Loretto.

Sue retired after 30 years of work at First Republic Bank as vice president. Sue graduated as Valedictorian at Loretto High School. Sue graduated college with a Bachelor’s business degree in Nashville, TN while she worked as both a secretary for the American Dental Association, a model for 2 high-end Nashville department stores, as well as a nanny during her college career.

Sue worked as a bank teller, computer programmer, and branch manager for First Republic Bank in both Paducah, KY and Nashville, TN, respectively. Sue and Stan were both on the school board of St. Francis Catholic School in Paducah, KY. Sue was a member of the McCracken County Business Association. Sue was a notary public. Stan and Sue Silver visited every single American state as well as held an avid hobby of attending and arranging Civil War reenactments. Sue lived out her final years in her home with family.

Sue is preceded in death by parents Bentley Dover and Carmie Newton Dover; siblings Horace Buddy Dover, Shirley Walters, Sis Dover, Ed Dover, Herb Dover, Claire Flatt; her husband Stanley Silver and her son Michael Silver.

Sue is survived by her immediate family of her sister Gail Walters; brother, Larry Dover; Daughter Michelle Susan Silver; grandsons Blake and Brock Silver; great-grandson Kannon Silver, close nephew Shawn Silver, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law of the Silver, Dover, Walters, Newton, Sparkman, and Stephenson families.

Visitation will be held at the Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, October 11th, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

A Graveside Service will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Loretto, TN on Thursday, October 12th, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Jeffery Todd Gieske, D.C. officiating.
