Michael Page will officiate the service with Brandon Moore delivering family reflection and Jerry Trimble comments. Our precious mama (Mamaw Sue) passed from our loving hands into the arms of Jesus while surrounded by all her babies. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother that spent the majority of her life as a caretaker; caring for her children, grandchildren, and later her parents and husband. God gave her the special gift of cooking. Anyone who came into her home would never leave without a full stomach or at least a “butter bowl” of food for later. She would always go all out, as if she were cooking for an army, for our family get-togethers. The more, the merrier was her attitude as her home was always overflowing with love and food. Her children and grandchildren were her life. After devoting herself to raising her children, she entered the workforce where she worked in the deli at Kroger. She also got to show off her cooking skills here. She retired after 20yrs. She was a Charter Member of Crossroads Baptist Church where she enjoyed taking care of the little ones in the nursery until she had to stop due to her husband’s failing health. She was the true epitome of the Proverbs 31 woman. She was greatly loved and cherished, not only by her family but also by her extended family which included all her family’s friends and spouses. She was cut from a special cloth and will be greatly missed. Sue is survived by sons, Paul Moore (Sylvia “Toodles”) and Keith Hivley (Lisa); her daughters, Paula Grimes (Chris), Julia Hatfield (Danny) and Carol Brawner; seven grandchildren, Sara Langston, Brandy McCalister (Scotty), Alex Grimes (Heather), Jay Moore (Brandi), Tyler Moore (Ashley), Randy Jones and Rodney Jones; ten great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; other relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Billy Hivley; two grandchildren, Jamie Weatherbee and John Weatherbee; her father, James U. Baker; her mother, Beatrice Switcher Overton and the father of her children, James Paul Moore. Pallbearers will be Bryce Bearden, Clay Langston, Alex Grimes, Jay Moore, Tyler Moore and Scotty McCalister. Honorary pallbearers will be Waylon Grimes, Rhett Grimes and Maxell Moore. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mrs. Sue Hivley.
