Ms. Sue Ann Strickland, age 79, passed away late Tuesday, March 29, 2023, in Jackson. She was born December 2, 1948 in Henderson County to the late L. V. and Evelyn Woods Burton. She was a retired restaurant owner. She enjoyed her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She also loved her friends and the staff at Briarwood. Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Payne (James); her brother, James Neal Burton (Kathy); her sister, Nona Woods (Randy); five grandchildren, Matthew Tucker (Becca), Anthony Payne (Megan), Bethany Massengill (Josh), Kaycee Payne, and Jessica Wallace (Dustin); and nine great grandchildren, Ava Massengill, Aden Massengill, Noah Payne, Cooper Payne, Harley Payne, Remington Payne, Oakley Payne, Kyndalyn Wallace, and Brennan Wallace. She was preceded in death by her son, Henry Neal Woods and her daughter, Evelyn Marie Woods.
Funeral services are scheduled for 4 PM, Thursday, March 30, 2023, in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington. Interment will follow in Mazies Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, 5 – 8 PM and on Thursday, 11 AM – 4 PM.
