SHEFFIELD – Alabama students can help pay for their college tuition while catching bass on Pickwick Lake June 13.
The Third Annual Timmy Horton High School Bass Anglers Challenge offers $20,000 in college scholarships. The tournament, for students in grades 7-12, will be staged out of Riverfront Park in Sheffield. It is open to students in public, private and home schools. The entry fee is $20 per angler.
Horton, a Bassmaster Elite Series angler and outdoors television personality from Muscle Shoals, said the tournament offers students an opportunity to win money for college while fishing on one of the greatest bass lakes in America.
“Pickwick is absolutely awesome. It is full of big largemouth, big smallmouth and big spotted bass too,” Horton said. “The kids are going to catch some really nice fish and have a lot of fun catching them.”
