Student Struck By Vehicle While Trying to Board School Bus

ATHENS-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a single-vehicle accident that has resulted in a female minor being injured while trying to board a school bus on Thursday, March 11:

“A single-vehicle crash at approximately 7:30 a.m. Thursday, March 11, has left a female juvenile injured.

The juvenile was attempting to cross the roadway to board a school bus when a 2014 Honda Accord struck her. She was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The crash occurred on Nick Davis Road near Twin Drive, approximately three miles east of Athens. The driver, who was also a juvenile, was given traffic citations for reckless driving and passing a school bus.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
