Stewart Veltus SandersFuneral services for Stewart Veltus Sanders, 85, of Cullman, will be 1:00 Saturday November 30th at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Tim Ayers will be officiating.  Burial will follow the service at Cullman City Cemetery.  Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00 until 1:00 at Hanceville Funeral Home.

 

Born on May 22, 1939, Stewart Sanders, a man who cherished his life and lived it to the fullest, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2024. Known for his warmth, kindness, and dedication to his family, Stewart left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

 

Stewart loved his family deeply and worked tirelessly to be a devoted provider. For 21 years, he owned and operated S&E Carpet in Bremen, Alabama, earning the trust and respect of his community. After selling the business to his sister, Martha, and her husband, Kermit, he embarked on a new chapter. Stewart turned his focus to renovating and reselling homes, pursuing this passion in Cullman, Tennessee, and Florida. His hard work and determination ensured his success in every endeavor.

 

A true people person, Stewart had a gift for connecting with others. He delighted in conversations with friends and family, always ready with a kind word, a story, or a laugh. His positivity and zest for life were infectious, and his presence brought joy to all who spent time with him. Stewart’s life was a testament to love, dedication, and an enduring spirit. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

 

Mr. Sanders is survived by his wife, Judith Healy; siblings, Wynona Campbell, James Harbison (Peggy), Martha Kilgo, Charlie Harbison (Rita); and a host of nieces and nephews.

 

Mr. Sanders was preceded in death by his daughter, Wanita Sanders; sister, Mary Bookout (Glenn), brother-in-law, Kermit Kilgo; and his parents, Doyle Sanders & Ellen Harbison.
