Steven McClard, 59, passed away Sunday. He was born in Glen Ridge, New Jersey and was a long time resident of Huntsville, Alabama. He recently moved to Pulaski, Tennessee, to a dream home he designed only months prior to his passing. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; son, Brian; daughter, Whitney Stringer; granddaughter, Kaiya Stringer; and sister, Suzanne Ward.
Steven graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. After graduation, he worked briefly at Teledyne Brown Engineering. Following Teledyne, he obtained a position at NASA, where he worked on such projects as Node 2 of the International Space Station, the Kepler Mission, New Horizons mission currently en route to Pluto, and recently, Osiris-Rex.
He was honored for his work with a Silver Snoopy Award. Steven was a devoted husband, father, and brother with a very warm heart and good nature that will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Park Service or the Aplastic Anemia & MDS International Foundation.
