Mr. Steven Joe Rickman Steven Joe Rickman
February 8, 1959 – March 9, 2023
Steve grew up in North Alabama but spent his life working as a construction contractor, travelling all over the USA building and renovating hotels and resorts. His expertise was known and well respected. He loved his work and getting to work with other skilled workers was always a kick for him. He never met a stranger and loved meeting new people on the road.
Steve is survived by his brothers and sisters, Kitty (Russell) Speegle, Tommy (Susan) Rickman, Kennith (Mary) Rickman, Nancy (David) Chrietzberg, Tammy Rickman, and Jim Marston; his best friend, Cynthia Diane Collins (Sam Walker, Ricky Purdin); his aunt, Betty Pope; uncle, Andy Green; his beloved cats, Cotton and Cashew; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Guy Rickman and Billie (Wilburn) Lambert; brother, Donny Rickman, his grandparents; and friend, Darren Laxton.
Those that knew him knew him to be real and straightforward but always recognized his big heart.
He was ill for the last few years and we want to wish a heart-felt thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Marshall Medical Center North and the Cancer Center for taking such good care of him.
The family has elected cremation and will forego services at this time. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later time. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the liverfoundation.org or to cancer.org.
Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel is assisting the family.
