Funeral Services for Mr. Steven Douglas Thrower, age 59 of Goodwater, will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at 12:00 P.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with Bro. Keith Dennis officiating. Burial will follow at Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Thrower passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at his home. A lifelong resident of clay county, Mr. Thrower worked most of his life in the transportation department of Russell Mills. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding 4-wheelers with his family. He often bought, sold and traded animals and would spend up to 12 hours talking on the phone, according to his family.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, LeeAnn Thrower of Goodwater; his son, Jamie Thrower of Hackneyville; his father, Henry Douglas Thrower; and his sister, Sherry Barnett, both of Goodwater, plus extended family.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Doris Lucille Barnett Thrower.
Active pallbearers are Shun Griffin, Kevin Barnett, Glenn Cox, Brian Newman, Jimmy Wayne Horn, and Billy Price.
The family requests no flowers, and instead requests donations be made towards the funeral expenses.
Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville is in charge of arrangements.
