Steven Charles Husley, 73, of Cordova, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2024, at home. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, December, 19, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Lee Witherington will officiate.
In his early life, Steve lived in Knoxville, Tennessee, and then in Russellville, Alabama. He graduated from Belmont University, then worked in the recording industry and as an audio engineer at Opryland, USA. Steve sang professionally for several years and was a lifelong singer and musician. He transitioned to a career as a juvenile probation officer and retired after 36 years of service. Steve and his wife, Jan, loved to travel in the Caribbean, to entertain, to cook and bake, and to cheer for the University of Alabama football team. Steve was an avid gardener and grew stunning flowers of many varieties. He made candles and soap, sketched in charcoal, was a photographer, and had a mind that was always working on something creative and beautiful.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna Lou Hulsey; parents, Charles and Nina Hulsey; and brother, Paul Hulsey.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Ingle Hulsey; child, Lila Sears (David); and sister, Amy McDuffee (Jimmy).
