Steven Alan Burgett Mr. Steven Alan “Steve” Burgett, 68, of Culleoka passed away unexpectedly Sunday, November 27, 2022 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

 

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Russell Smith officiating.  Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery.  The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 12:00 noon until 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Steve was born February 2, 1954 in Nashville to the late James Philip and Jennine Allen Burgett. He attended Culleoka School and graduated with honors in May 1972. On August 4 of that same year he married the love of his life, Pamela Jones Burgett. They celebrated their 50th anniversary this year.

 

Steve served as an elder and was a life-long member of the Culleoka Church of Christ.

He was a member of the Culleoka Lions Club for over 40 years, serving in leadership roles and service roles including the annual Mule Day Pancake Breakfast. He also served with the Maury County Election Commission for many years.

 

Steve worked as an engineer in the test labs of Heil Quaker Industries in Nashville and then LaVergne for 22 years. He also worked at Fedders Corporation in Columbia and then owned and partnered at Multimedia Image Corporation, also in Columbia.

 

Steve loved his hometown and was active in many community projects and charitable events, a well-known face of the Culleoka community. He was especially proud of his grandchildren and loved spending time with them, attending ballgames and school events.

 

Steve was preceded in death by his parents James Philip and Jennine Allen Burgett and his grandparents John David Cecil Burgett and Elma Dee Crabtree Burgett Ketchum of Lewisburg, and Aaron Vorce and Ada Exine Dugger Allen of Culleoka.

 

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Pamela Jones Burgett; one son, Stephen Christopher “Chris” Burgett and one daughter, Alissa Jill Burgett (Josh) Davidson, both of Culleoka; two grandchildren, Jaxon Lee Davidson and Emma Grace Davidson of Culleoka; one brother, David Blaine Burgett of Lewisburg; two sisters, Pamela Burgett (David) Foster of Culleoka and Katherine Burgett (LaRon) Pressnell of Orange Beach, Alabama; several nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as his wife’s loving and supportive Jones family.
