Steve Abbott, age 76, of Decatur, Alabama, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at his home, on Saturday, March 29th, 2025. He was born on August 10th, 1948, in Birmingham, Alabama to William Herman Abbott and Jewel Whisenant Abbott.
Mr. Abbott is survived by his loving wife Kay Laxson Abbott; sons, Blake Abbott and his wife Larissa and Clint Abbott and his wife Amy; grandsons, Jackson and Ryker; granddaughters, Avery, Lydia, and Addy; and in-laws, Glynn and Ermogene Laxson.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Rick Abbott.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 1st, 2025, at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home from 5 pm to 7:15 pm. The funeral service will be held at 7:30 pm, following the visitation, at Limestone Chapel with Sam Buchanan officiating.
A private family graveside service will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery in Huntsville, Alabama. Pallbearers will be Clint Abbott, Blake Abbott, Jackson Abbott, Ryker Abbott, Guinn Laxson, John Laxson, Sam Lail, and Greg Reece. The honorary pallbearer will be Tyler Denton.
