Sterland “Jay” Gibson, age 79, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Saturday, August 24, 2024, at NHC-Maury Regional Transitional Care Center in Columbia, TN. He was a native of Paulding, OH, retired engineer from Precision Metal Products Company in Holland, MI, and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Lawrenceburg. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge, the American Legion, the Eagles, and a Mason.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hargis and LaVada Callahan Gibson.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara A. Gibson of Lawrenceburg, TN; one son, Bradley S. Gibson of Auburn, IN; one daughter, Lori J. Durre of Hicksville, OH; two granddaughters; two great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; two brothers, Roland Gibson of Antwerp, OH; Tim Gibson of Hicksville, OH; three sisters, Belinda Dunbar of Fort Wayne, IN, Betsy Rice of Cecil, OH, Claryln McClain of Napoleon, OH; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. A memorial service will be held at a later date with inurnment to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN. The family suggests memorials be made to Sacred Heart Catholic School in Lawrenceburg, TN.
