Stephen Randall Young – Obituary

Stephen Randall Young, 67, died at Huntsville Hospital on January 5. For almost 40 years, Stephen dedicated his life to the mental health community of Alabama, serving mental health centers in Tuscaloosa, Dothan, Guntersville and Huntsville as counselor and psychologist. He never shied from the tough cases, and he treated every client with dignity and compassion.

A lifelong do-it-yourselfer, Stephen built his own computers and beta-tested products for Microsoft. He shared his father’s philosophy, “If I can’t fix it, it’s not worth fixing.”
Besides a legion of friends and colleagues, he leaves behind his sister Deborah Young Thompson of Richmond,Virginia, and his nephews Adam Thompson of Gaithersburg, Maryland, and Ryan Thompson of Richmond, Virginia.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, January 12 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home.
