Mr. Stephen Franklin ClarkeStephen Franklin Clarke, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, of Scottsboro, Alabama passed away Monday, December 11, 2023 at the age of 73.

Mr. Clarke was a salesman by trade, working in both insurance and car sales. When not working at his job, he enjoyed working in his yard, playing corn hole, and cheering on his Florida State football team. He also had a love for classic rock, baking, and woodworking-where he made signs and doll houses. He was a true “family man.” When his sons were younger, he coached their baseballs teams. As he got older and became a grandfather, he loved watching his grandchildren play sports or supported them in any of their activities. He especially loved taking his grandchildren for rides on the tractor. Mr. Clarke was veteran, serving in the United States Navy.

He was a wonderful husband to his wife, Martha Clarke; a proud father to his sons, Shane Clarke (Stacy), Stephen Aaron Clarke (Wendy), and Robert Nicholas Clarke (Nicole); a devoted grandfather to Mecala Lewis (Jake), Kylie Clarke, Mikinley Saint (Troy), Peyton Clarke, Kaitlyn Clarke, Baylee Clarke, and Carly Ann Clarke; an adoring great grandfather to Lorelai Lewis and Jack Lewis; and loving brother to Teresa Fitzpatrick. He was preceded in death by his father, George F. Clarke; mother, Ruby Clarke; and brother, George W. Clarke.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, December 15, 2023 at Scottsboro Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Stenson and his grandson, Peyton Clarke, officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, December 14, 2023 from 5-8 p.m.
