Stephen Bennett Scott, 67, of Waterloo, Ala., passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013. His funeral service will be Friday, May 10, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the Church of Christ at Macedonia. He will lie in state from 1-2 p.m. Sonny Hargett, Wayne Wood and Arvy Dupuy will be officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 6-9 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Central Heights.
Mr. Scott was born and raised in Florence, Ala. Baptized into Christ at 18 years of age by Lamar Plunkett at the Church of Christ at Macedonia, where he was a member, he also attended Hendrix Chapel Church of Christ. After 39 years, he retired from the city of Florence Water Treatment Plant. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years, Marjorie Faye Scott; parents, Bertye and Lillian Scott; brothers, Mancel Hart Jr., Cecil Hart and James Hart.
Survivors include loving wife of three short years, Debra Frazier Kelley Scott; sons, Christopher Bennett Scott (Allison), Bradley Kevin Scott (Donya); grandsons, Cameron Bennett Scott and Zachary Hayden Scott; stepsons, Walter Kelley (Melissa), Ryan Kelley; stepgrandchildren, Mackenzie, Tanner and Brantley Kelley; sister, Wanda Scott Wesson; mother-in-law, Alamae Frazier; brother and sister-in-law, Freddie and Shelia Fell; a host of family and friends and loved by all.
Memorials may be made to the Church of Christ at Macedonia or Hendrix Chapel Church of Christ Building Fund.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Allen, Harold Cromwell, Freddie Fell, W.J. Hall, Buddy McClure and Tim Wright.
