acts “The Blackfoot Gypsies”. The concert will be held at The End in Florence, AL on February
06, 2015 at 9:00 p.m. and tickets are five dollars and available at the door.
The End, is a theatre/performance venue located at 106 South Pine St. in Florence, AL.
“It is the
mission of The End., to expose the public to unheard, unseen and unperformed artists and works
which will enrich and educate the public in a capacity previously unexplored.”
“Together with our good friend Randall Nichols, we have organized one of the most popular
bands in Nashville to basically tear the roof off of The End” said Planet Ink.
“Your Boys are also one of the most energetic and original bands I have ever heard, and they are
local. Its going to be a foot stomping psychedelic good time” says Planet Ink.
About Planet Ink:
“Planet Ink is a blues rock band based in Florence, AL and founded by brothers Michael and
Alexander Bowling and their cousin James Sherrill. Since their first show in the summer of
2005, Planet Ink has been writing and performing regularly, releasing two full-length albums of
original music, ‘Trip’s the Hound’ (2007) and ‘Planet Ink’ (2010) as well as one EP, ‘Hooligan’
(2011). Planet Ink has been praised for their energetic live shows and have played along side
acts such as, Beware of Darkness, Jason Isbell, That 1 Guy, Alabama Shakes, Jack Russell of
Great White and Manny Charlton of Nazareth and more. Planet Ink is currently in the studio,
with the addition of keyboardist CJ Anderson, recording a new full-length album entitled,
‘Wiseacre’, which was set to be released during the summer of 2014.
About The Blackfoot Gypsies:
“Nashville’s Blackfoot Gypsies are a rock’n’roll band– straight up, no modifiers necessary. With
four years, four releases and countless miles under their belt as a two-piece guitar and drums
powerhouse, Zach Murphy and Matthew Paige have recently added fellow brethren Dylan
Whitlow (bass) and Ollie Dogg (harmonica), bolstering their passionate, careening, undeniably
American sound. Seeing the band live is like watching someone cling to a firehouse at full blast
or dig their heels in atop a thrashing mechanical bull…holding on for dear life, slowly guiding
and reacting to forces at the brink of their control, somehow coming up aces in the end.”
“Blackfoot Gypsies have shared bills with everyone from the Alabama Shakes and Trampled by
Turtles to Futurebirds, The Ettes and The Carolina Chocolate Drops. Their second full-length
LP, ‘Handle It’ (2014), is the band’s debut as a full-throttle four piece. Drawing inspiration from
the downhome roots of the Delta blues and the foreboding ghosts of country music’s past,
Murphy, Paige & Co. go to the same well as Zeppelin, the Stones and The Faces, coming up with
bucketful of angsty rock’n’roll that’ll jolt your flat lined heart back into rhythm.
