Stella Cook Bailey – Obituary

Stella Cook Bailey, age 90, of Phil Campbell, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Helen Keller Hospital.

Our Mother lived her full life in Franklin County and was a member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church. She was retired from a clothing manufacturing business.

The family will receive friends at 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Spry Memorial Chapel with the funeral service following at 12:00 noon in the chapel. Officiating will be Bro. Adam Pharr. Burial will be in the Liberty Hill North Side Cemetery.

She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Bailey Pace (husband, Alvie), Pamela Bailey Welborn (husband, Carl); grandchildren, Dustan Bailey Pace (wife, Misty), Chase William Welborn (wife, Katie), Bailey Arthur Welborn; great-grandchildren, Colton William Welborn, Rylee-Kate Welborn; brother-in-law, W. L. Bailey; sister-in-law, Christine Bailey; several nephews and nieces; and a host of loving and supportive church and community friends.

She was preceded in death by our father, Ethan Bailey; parents, Arthur & Irene Crane Cook; brother, Ethridge Cook and wife, Ore Mae; sister, Myrtle Overton and husband, Yancy; and several brothers and sisters-in-law.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons.

The family would like to extend a very thanks to Dr. Kevin Kelly and staff for their many years of medical care and guidance to and for our mother, Russellville Health Care administration and staff for special care and love to our mother, County Cottage of Russellville administration and staff, Helen Keller Hospital doctors and nurses; and community and church friends for words of kindness and prayers.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial to Liberty Hill North Side Cemetery Fund, 2615 Hwy 43, Phil Campbell, AL 35581.
