Stanley Wayne JohnsonStanley Wayne Johnson, 68, of Danville, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025. He was born on November 1, 1956, in Decatur, Alabama, to Joe Johnson and Sarah Gray Johnson.

A simple man at heart, Stanley cherished the time spent with his family. He was an avid motor sports enthusiast and had a particular love for racing. Stanley also enjoyed Western films, with a special fondness for the classic John Wayne movies. He was happiest when he was excavating, finding great joy in the work and the sense of accomplishment it brought him.

Stanley is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Sarah Johnson, and his brother, Rodney Johnson. He is survived by his son, Joe Johnson (Kynsie); his daughter, Deanna Castillo (Chris); his brother, Chuck Johnson (Terri); his sisters, JoAnn Gunner, Cindy Dempsey, and Tammy Terry Crandell. Stanley’s memory will live on through his six grandchildren: Isaac and Kya Johnson, Brayden, Carson, Sadie, and Paxton Castillo.

The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 1:30 P.M. at Ridout’s Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur, with Joe Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 1:30 P.M. prior to the service.

Stanley will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
