Dr. Stanley Nabors Parker passed away on September 26, 2018, at age 66. The family will be receiving friends on Sunday at Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon, TN, from 3–5 pm. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 5 pm. Internment in Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery is 10 am on Monday, October 1, 2018.
Stan was born in Houston, Mississippi. He served his country in the 82nd Airborne and 8th Infantry division of the United States Army where he received the National Defense Service Medal. He was pastor of churches in Missouri, North Carolina, and South Carolina. He also served as a Dean at Charleston Southern University in Charleston, South Carolina, was an entrepreneurial business owner, and most recently a pastoral counselor at Branches Christian Counseling. He was a member of the Bridge Fellowship Church.
Stan loved snow skiing and would be out at Sugar Mountain and even the Swiss Alps as often as he could. He loves his wife and boys. He enjoyed his time with his family, especially with his two sons, their wives, and his four grandkids! He is survived by his wife of 43 years Kathleen Lovell Parker, sons Scott (Rachel) Parker and Ryan (Kristin) Parker, grandchildren Hailey Parker, Courtney Parker, Keane Parker, and Grace Parker, mother Martha Parker, brother Roger (Neicy) Parker, and several nephews, nieces, and extended family.
