Stanley Micheal Straker was lost to our world, but heaven gained another soul that will forever be missed. On Saturday afternoon, May 18, 2024, he left us suddenly while at home on his farm in Mt. Pleasant, TN, at the age of 74. He gained his wings into heaven, but has left an empty spot in our lives. Stan was born in Lima, Ohio, on December 11, 1949, he was predeceased by his parents Helen Nester Straker and Earl Straker, and brother Ron. He was a strong-minded individual from the start, and that drive to “be the best” was what he lived by all of his life. He graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, not to mention that was where he met his wife Deanna. In his early 20s, he helped head a project to provide materials for the Alaskan pipeline. He worked as an executive plant manager for ICI Americas, and Astra Zeneca, a pharmaceutical company.
He was knowledgeable in everything he did, and there was no problem he didn’t think he could solve, and there was no challenge he didn’t tackle. Stan had a “presence” and made an impression on many of those in his life, but most importantly, he just wanted to live and be loved.
He is survived by his wife, Deanna S. Straker, and daughters Shelley Straker (Jess Skinner) and Stacey Brower (Ron), and beloved grandchildren Ember and Jackson, as well as his beloved Irish Setter, Harley.
There was no one like him.
