F.10.26.24 Stacy Evans.jpgStacy Nicole (Thomason) Evans, 43, Muscle Shoals, passed from her earthly home on October 24, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.

A true warrior, Stacy bravely fought cancer for almost four years. She graduated from Muscle Shoals High School in 1999, attended the University of North Alabama and received a nursing degree from Northwest-Shoals Community College. She worked as an RN at Helen Keller Hospital before becoming a full-time caregiver to her Mimi.

Stacy loved spending time with her family, which included her Highland Park Church of Christ family, where she was active with the ladies’ group and worked with children.

She was preceded in death by her Papa and Mimi, Jesse and Reba Thornton, Muscle Shoals; father, William David Thomason, Muscle Shoals; grandparents, Mable Swatzell, Florence, and Jack Thomason, Muscle Shoals.

Survivors include the love of her life, Nathaniel Evans, and her pride and joy, daughter Jessalyn Ansleigh Evans, Muscle Shoals; mother and stepfather, Teri and Randy Paul Stepleton, Muscle Shoals; mother- and father-in-law, Melissa and Jim Gunnels, Florence; uncle and aunt, Dale and Traci Thornton, Muscle Shoals; and a host of extended family members.

A special thanks to Dr. Heather Brody and staff at Clearview Cancer Center, Florence. While the reason she came to CCI was unpleasant, Stacy loved her caregivers. Also, thank you to the nurses with Hospice of North Alabama, who cared for Stacy and her family at the end.

A Celebration of Stacy’s life will be Sunday, October 27, at Highland Park Church of Christ, Muscle Shoals. Visitation with the family will be 12:30-2 p.m., followed by the service with Ben Hayes and Will Myhan officiating.

Pallbearers will be Randall Evans, Jim Gunnels, Seth Thornton, Keith Herston, Kevin Herston and Nolan Herston.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Highland Park Church of Christ missions fund.

Please leave condolences for the family at morrisonfuneralhomes.com.
