TUSCUMBIA-The Shoals Labor Council has decided the Labor Day Celebration in Spring Park will be cancelled this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Labor Council said members of the board were concerned for the safety of those attending this event which is the oldest of its kind and has been held in Tuscumbia for over 100 years.
According to the council this event has only been cancelled one other time and it was due to rainstorms from a hurricane and two other times during World War II.
This event is usually a stumping point for politicians to get there message out and is also home to a car show, along with food and door prizes.
The event is scheduled to return to Spring Park in Tuscumbia in 2021.
