Spencer Carson Hoener Profile PhotoSpencer Carson Hoener, our loving son, brother, grandson, and friend, passed away on August 23, 2024 in Madison, AL. Spencer was born on September 23, 2002 in Huntsville, AL. He graduated from Sparkman High School in 2021 and was currently a student at Calhoun Community College where he was studying music technology.

Spencer will always be remembered for the tender way he selflessly served others. He was a fun-loving, kind person with a sensitive soul who loved fully, and was loved by so many that met him. He was gifted with a witty sense of humor and always made others smile. Spencer was a reflective thinker who enjoyed spending time in nature, appreciated the arts, and loved and cared for animals, especially his dog, Roxy.

Spencer was a talented musician who played drums, guitar, bass, and piano, but his favorite instrument was drums. He had an incredible ear for music, wrote and produced his own music, and served God with his musical abilities.

Spencer was a dedicated follower of Christ. He acknowledged Jesus as his Savior at church camp in 2016 and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Spencer was involved in discipleship groups, played in the youth praise band in high school, and served faithfully helping the praise band, sound booth, and livestream services.

Spencer will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his parents, Travis and Michal Lynn Hoener; his brother, Ryan Thornton; his brother, Trevor Hoener (fiancée Brianna Williams); and his sister Katie Hoener. He is also survived by his Grandma and Grandpa, Leroy and Carol Hoener; his Gimi and Pawpaw, Gerald and Georgia Flanagan; his uncle Tim Flanagan; and many loving friends.

Visitation will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church on August 30, 2024 at 2:00-4:00 p.m. Funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Spencer will rest at Mt Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, and because of Spencer’s love of nature, we request trees be planted in his memory or a donation be made to Huntsville Botanical Gardens.
