Sonya Kaye Vanlandingham Finley – Obituary

Ms. Sonya Kaye Vanlandingham Finley, 55, died Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born January 1, 1962 at Ft. Polk, LA to Sherman Vanlandingham and Carla Kaye Bryant Vanlandingham. She worked many years as office Manager for Bill Williams Sporting Goods until her health began to fail. She was an outgoing lady with a kind, sweet heart, who loved her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed horseback riding, working in her yard, and her vegetable garden. She loved all animals, but was most fond of her dog, Trouble.
A celebration of life service will be at 2:00 p.m., today (Thursday), in the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. Donald Worsham officiating. Graveside service will be at 4:00 p.m. at Parker Memorial Gardens in Bruce, MS. Visitation will be today from noon to service time. Survivors include her mother, Carla Vanlandingham of Sulphur, OK; her companion, Sam Patterson of Saltillo; two sons, Dusty Joe Finley (Greer) of Madison and Rusty Dunn Finley of Pontotoc; her daughter, Lindsey Kay Brown (Corey) of Hattiesburg; two brothers, Jon Vanlandingham (Joy) of Bentonia (Yazoo Co.), and Steven Vanlandingham of Sulphur, OK; two sisters, Stacie Barefoot (Shawn) of Washington, OK, and Brandi Withrow (Bruce) of Sulphur, OK; and five grandchildren. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other dear relatives, and many friends. She is preceded in death by her father.

Honorary pallbearers will be T. K. Barefoot, Jordan Barefoot, Jeremy Vanlandingham, Don Bryant, Perry Forrester, Brian Beasley, and Ko Withrow.
