Mr. Sonny Lealon Creasy, 78, of Decatur, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2023. His visitation will be on Sunday, February 12, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home. A celebration of life will follow at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Creasy is survived by his two sons, Charles Creasy and Sonny Tucker (Constance Tucker) both of Decatur; two daughters, Myra Lovelace and Felicia Tidwell; 9 grandchildren, Brannon, Elijah, Jacob, Joseph, Noah, Jackson, Destany, Brianna and Haylie; one brother, Randall Young and one sister, Carolyn Shannon.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Overstreet; father, James Eldred Hayes; step-father, Edward Overstreet; daughter in law, Amber Scott Tucker and his significant other known only to us as, Ms. Margaret.
In life Mr. Creasy was known as a hard worker, often being told that he never quits working. He served in the Alabama National Guard for a number of years and carried those values throughout his life. Mr. Creasy loved to fish and watch Alabama football. His family was his life, and he worked hard to instill his values and work ethic into his sons lives. He defied the odds by living almost 20 years when his physicians believed he would only live 3. He will always be remembered by his family as being immortal.
Pallbearers will be Sonny Tucker, Charles Creasy, Matthew Hyatt, Tony Emerson, John Cowan, and Michael Weems.
