Sonja Brown Gray, 72, passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at her home in Greenwood Springs. She was born on September 17, 1952, to Robert D. and Eloyse Key Brown. Prior to her retirement, she worked as an aide in healthcare. She was the widow of Johnny Lloyd Gray, and she enjoyed shopping, working in her yard when she was able, and taking care of her best companion, Snoopy. She was a member of the New Hope Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home with Minister Travis Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenbrier Cemetery.
Survivors include her daughter, Tammy Dobbs of Greenwood Springs; sister, Midge James (Charlie), Greenwood Springs; brother, Gerry Brown, Becker; grandchildren, Destiny Jones (Justin Hawkins), John Gray (Jennifer), and Joshua Kirk Gray; great grandchildren, Baylee Cresap, Abby Gray, Charles Gray, Kye Hawkins, and Brooklyn Gray; daughter-in-law, Michell Gray; brother-in-law, Jimmy Gray (Angie); sister-in-law, Annette Mitchell (Ellis); friends, Nell and Nita; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Lloyd Gray; her parents; one son, Johnny Lynn Gray; and brothers-in-law, Billy Joe Gray and Curtis Gray.
Pallbearers will be John Gray, Joe Canyon, Tony Brown, Lynn Brown, Charlie James, and Ryan James.
Visitation will be on Saturday from noon until the service hour.
