Single-Vehicle Accident Near Joppa Takes Life Of Hanceville Man

MORGAN COUNTY-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a single-vehicle accident involving a a debris truck has taken the life of one person:

“A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 4:15 p.m. Sunday, August  18, has claimed the life of a Hanceville man.

Ronald L. Knott, 70, was fatally injured when the 2007 Sterling LT9513 debris removal truck he was driving left the roadway, overturned, struck several trees and a utility pole guy wire. Knott was not using a seat belt at the time of crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on Ruth Mountain Road near Valley Cruise Lane, approximately eight miles north of Joppa, in Morgan County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
