Funeral service for Sidney Jackson “Jack” Nelson, age 78, of Trinity, will be Tuesday, October 5, 2021, 1:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jim Nelson, Pastor Josh Sparkman, and Owen Millette officiating. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Midway Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Nelson, who died Friday, October 1, 2021, at his residence, was born February 7, 1943, in Lawrence County, to William Bethal Nelson and Ophelia Mae McDougal Nelson. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Evelyn Nelson; his parents; two brothers, James William “Shorty” Nelson and Harrison Nelson; one sister, Flossie Mae Burns; and one grandson, Alexander Ross Nelson. Mr. Nelson was a horse rancher, and, since 1965, he was the owner and operator of Pondarosa Furniture in Trinity.

He is survived by two sons, Scott Nelson (Jeanie) of Moulton, and Joseph Nelson (Cassie) of Sevierville, TN; one daughter, Sherry Bryant (Phillip) of Trinity; one brother, Thomas Nelson (Sue) of Moulton; two sisters, Annie Lue Nesmith of Hillsboro and Martha Ruth McCay (Andrew) of Moulton; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
