Sidney J Sampson, of Franklin, Tennessee, passed away on May 19, 2024, at the age of 68. He was born on November 27th, 1955, in Kokomo, Indiana. Sid was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
Sid is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Sampson; his father, Joe Sampson; his father-in-law, Jack Steele; and his sister-in-law, Paula Brockette.
Sid leaves behind his best friend and wife of 42 years, Sara Sampson; his daughter, Emily Wanek and her husband, Joe; his son, Cameron Sampson; his brother, Stuart Sampson; his adored grandchildren, Sarah Marie, Leo, and Georgie Wanek, his mother-in-law, Georgie Steele; his sister-in-law and her husband, Martha Steele and Bob Felde; along with his nephews and nieces, Kate Felde, Jackson and Angie Felde, Brandon Felde, and Addison Brockette.
Sid’s career included several successful roles in Sales and Marketing, culminating in his position as the Director of Contractor Rewards at BI Worldwide. Outside of his professional life, Sid’s interests were diverse and always centered around his family. He was an avid golfer, a woodworker, candle maker, grill master, photographer, and coach. Sid reveled in hosting family and friends with his wife Sara. He also cherished the time he spent supporting his kids and grandkids in their sports and activities.
Sid was the epitome of a “good guy.” He is remembered as kind, wise, intentional, witty, and loyal. He was an amazing “Papa” and the go-to handyman for friends and family. His “people” meant the world to him, and he cherished the relationships in his life.
Despite living with Pulmonary Fibrosis for the last 16 years, Sid maintained an active and fulfilling life. He continued to work, travel, and enjoy his many hobbies and time with family. It was only in the last few years of his life that his health began to decline. Throughout his illness, Sid was supported by a team of dedicated healthcare professionals, to whom his family extends their deepest gratitude for their compassionate care.
