Shyrl Packer Sell

Shyrl Packer Sell of Madison, AL passed peacefully in her sleep on January 29th at the age of 81 in her home surrounded by her family. Shyrl was born in Beaver, Pennsylvania to Viola Mae and Richard Packer. Shyrl was a devoted wife to William (Bill) Sell for 56 years and a loving mother to Julie Pitkin (Bill) and Ron Sell (Karina). Shyrl is survived by her brother Rick Packer (Ann) residing in Garner, NC.  Shyrl delighted in her grandchildren Kayla (Bret Griffin), Nathan (Elizabeth Welch), Jessica, Allison, and Justin.

Shyrl was a dedicated elementary school teacher of students for many years in her hometown of Beaver, PA, Boynton Beach, FL, and Madison, AL.  She was an active member of Asbury United Methodist Church and has many dear friends in the Ladies’ Sewing Circle and in the Open Hearts/Open Door Sunday School class.  She was a tireless gardener with a gift of nurturing orchids to bloom.  Her joys were time spent with her family, learning, painting, sewing, and arts and crafts.

A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor at Asbury United Methodist Church at 2pm on Sunday, January 31st with interment to follow in Beaver, PA at a later date.
