Shuey, Gayle Bell, age 82, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022, at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. She was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on September 26, 1936, to the late Jack W. and Mary Starr Elrod Bell. The family later moved to Winchester, TN. Gayle was a member of the Franklin County High School Class of 1957 and the Peabody College Class of 1961 in Nashville. Gayle was the consummate homemaker, who also enjoyed her work in residential services and as a life skills teacher at a psychosocial development center in Atlanta. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jim. Gayle is survived by her husband of 61 years, Richard Shuey; her brother, Jack Bell; her nephew, Ian (Zorah) Bell; and her niece, Alexis (Michael) Palmer. In keeping with her wishes, Gayle was buried with a simple graveside service in the Bell Family plot at Evergreen Cemetery in Murfreesboro.
