DECATUR-The Decatur Police Department responded to a shots fired call. They are looking for the shooter who is considered armed and dangerous:
“SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE:
On September 8, 2015 Officers with the Decatur Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to a shooting in the 1000 block of 8th Ave SE Decatur, AL 35601. Officers made contact with the victim, Michael Burgess who was suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.
Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division responded to the scene and began an investigation.
It was learned that Johnny Darryl Strong Jr. shot Michael during a physical altercation. Officers searched the area for Johnny but were unable to locate him. Johnny is considered armed and dangerous.
Michael was transported by ambulance to Decatur Morgan Hospital where he was treated for non life threatening injuries. Michael is expected to make a full recovery.
