ATHENS-Our main purpose in fundraising is to carry under-privileged children Christmas shopping. We call this event SHOPPING WITH A FIREFIGHTER: School counselors within the county select a family they feel expresses the need to participate in this event. Each family will have a split between clothes and toys. They can elect to spend their allotted amount on necessities if they choose to.
We are asking for your donation to help with these endeavors. As an example of how your money works each child we carry shopping will be given $200 dollars where $100 dollars is allotted for clothes and $100 dollars for toys or other items of choice.
A $200 dollar donation would sponsor one child for Christmas, however any donations are greatly appreciated.
The Auxiliary also supports other local events and families in need throughout the year. We use all the donations collected to help the less fortunate and other community organizations with helping support charitable causes.
