ATHENS-Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson gives a statement on the shooting that took place in Athens on Sunday night, October 25:
“Earlier tonight the police department received a call of shots being fired on Vine Street. When officers arrived they found one person had been shot in his side. He was transported to Athens Limestone Hospital by ambulance. A second person was later transported to the hospital due to injuries he received in the fight where the male was shot.
The victim told investigators he didn’t want to talk with them tonight and he would come to the police department tomorrow. The second male also didn’t want to talk with investigators.
No one has been charged in connection to the shooting or the assault.”
