FLORENCE-The Florence Police Department has issued a press release concerning the shooting that took place at the Dollar General on Huntsville Road:
“At approximately 1:56 PM, Officers responded to a 911 call of a shooting that occurred behind Dollar General, 3065 Huntsville Road.
Officers located a male who advised he had shot someone. The male cooperated with officers and was taken into custody without incident. He was transported to the Florence Police Department for questioning.
A second male, who had been shot, was located in the area. He was transported to the North Alabama Medical Center by EMS. He is currently in surgery.
This is still an ongoing investigation and no further information will be released at this time.”
