FLORENCE-The Shoals Theatre will present the black comedy ‘Sordid Lives’ May 19-22. Dr. Randy Pettus is Directing and Katrina Burgess is Assistant Director.
Sordid Lives…Sissy is trying to give up cigarettes. Brother Boy, who thinks he’s Tammy Wynette, is at odds with his therapist who wants to “dehomosexualize” him. Latrelle and LaVonda can’t stop bickering over funeral arrangements, and Noleta is holding her husband at gunpoint! All these folks and more have gathered for Grandma Peggy’s funeral—she died in a seedy motel when she tripped over her married lover’s wooden legs. More suited for adult audiences, this black comedy was nominated for over thirty awards during its long run in Los Angeles, so expect plenty of laughs.
Tickets for the performances are $15 for adults and $12 for students. You can purchase tickets HERE
