FLORENCE – The Shoals Chamber of Commerce recently held a Grand Opening – Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to welcome Sam’s Sports Grille to the Shoals. Chamber members were on hand along with other dignitaries to thank the Sam’s Sports Grille management team for choosing The Shoals as a place to invest in a new bu sines that will provide good jobs for lots of local people.
Sam’s Sports Grille has opened its doors in Florence with one goal in mind, to be the number one sports grille in The Shoals area. There is not a bad seat in the house with the 46 high definition digital screens all around the room. But, don’t be alarmed, this is not just another “Sports Bar”, it is a family oriented dining establishment. While there are lots of TV’s on the wall, there are no beer signs or other non-family friendly advertising posted. In addition, when you enter, you have the choice of sitting in the lounge/bar area or the dining area, either way, your visit will a pleasurable experience.
Sam’s Sports Grille co-owner Al Thomas said “We have taken the philosophy if we are going to do it, let’s do it right.” Thomas, who is no stranger to The Shoals, having been a managing partner with the company that owned and operated Princeton’s restaurant, knows what folks in this area like to eat. Thomas also knows that Shoals area customers love great “scratch made” food with excellent service and it is the aim of the Florence management team to ensure that each and every customer is completely satisfied with their dining experience. Thomas stated “But we know we are only as good as our customers’ last visit, that’s why our whole team is committed to the customers’ complete satisfaction and if we fall short please bring it to our attention.”
The Sam’s Sports Grille in Florence is the sixth in a chain of restaurants that are headquartered in Nashville. Thomas and his business partner Sam Sanchez, also recently acquired Dale’s Restaurant and are in the process of completely renovating the exterior and interior of the business.
And, for you folks that remember the legendary chicken tenders that Princeton’s used to serve, well good news, they are now being served at Sam’s Sports Grille. Zagat, a renowed internet restaurant guide that provides reviews and ratings, said “We don’t know exactly what it is they do at Sam’s Sports Grille to make their chicken tenders to good, but whatever it is, it works. Each piece is lightly battered and cooked until golden brown …….” We recently tried them at the ribbon cutting ceremony and can attest they are the original Princeton recipe chicken tenders.
