THE SHOALS – Alabama Governor Kay Ivey was in town Friday for a tour of businesses, educational facilities and regional construction projects. The survey was sponsored by The Shoals Chamber of Commerce, and was designed to give the State’s new Chief Executive a working overview of the economic progress in this part of Alabama. It was a part of the Governor’s “Listen, Learn, Help & Lead” Tour.
The day began with a reception at the Chamber of Commerce, followed by a tour of the area, including the Northwest Alabama Regional Medical Center, presently under construction. The tour progressed on to Downtown Florence with a survey of the new U.N.A. Human Environmental Sciences Building on Seminary Street as well as the site of a proposed agricultural center on Florence Boulevard, and several other facilities.
The Quad-Cities Daily was on hand to record most of the day in EVENT PHOTOS. We present them here. They are suitable for printing.
