The Shoals, AL – The Shoals Chamber is now accepting nominations for the Shoals Chamber Citizen of the Year award, to be honored at the 30th annual Chamber celebration scheduled for Thursday, March 16 at the Marriott Shoals Conference Center. A recommendation form may be picked up at the Chamber office, located at 20 Hightower Place in Florence or is available online at www.shoalschamber.com.
Valid candidates for this award must meet the following criteria:
- The recipient has made outstanding contributions to the Shoals area by giving of either time or resources to promote the best interests of the community as a whole.
- The recipient does not currently hold a political office.
- The recipient must be a member of the Shoals Chamber of Commerce.
The form and one page detailing support for your recommendation must be received by 4:00 PM on Thursday, March 2. You may submit your form using the following methods:

The award recipient will be announced the evening of the celebration. The recipient will be chosen based on quality of service, not quantity of recommendations made on his or her behalf. Nominations may be based on contributions of different lengths of time; either lifetime of service, several years of service or one preceding year of service.
