LAUDERDALE COUNTY-The Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries (WFF) Division of the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (ADCNR) announces the Shoal Creek Public Boat Ramp on Wilson Reservoir near Florence, Alabama, will be closed due to utility construction on Sundays at 7:30 p.m. until Fridays at 3:30 p.m. each week from April 29 through May 24, 2024.

During that time period, the boat ramp and approximately half of the parking lot will reopen each weekend on Fridays at 3:30 p.m. until Sundays at 7:30 p.m. The temporary closure will allow the City of Florence to replace utility lines adjacent to the facility.

Funding for a portion of this project was provided through the federal Sport Fish Restoration Program, which is funded by excise taxes on the sale of outboard motor fuel and fishing equipment, and through the sale of state fishing licenses.

For more information about this and other public boating access areas provided by ADCNR, visit http://boatramps.dcnr.alabama.gov or call the WFF Fisheries Section at (334) 242-3471.
