Shirley P. Pat Gibbs, of La Vergne passed this life on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at her residence at the age of 80. Shirley P. was born in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late William A. Jones and Sallie B. Ridgell. She was a devoted member of Agape Ministries in Winchester where she sung in the choir. During her life, she worked as a switch board operator at Phillip Morris International for 17 years and Southern Tennessee Regional Health System in Winchester for 17 years. Her family describes her as being “feisty, always speaking her mind, and keeping it 100!!” She cherished and loved her family very much. She enjoyed reading, smoking, and enjoying her morning cup of coffee. She is preceded in death by her mother, Sallie B. Ridgell; father, William A. Jones; son, David H. Jones; husband, Kenneth W. Gibbs; two brothers, Hudson L. Harris and William Jones, Jr.; sister, Marie Jones; and her great-granddaughter, Ava Caggino. She is survived by her son, Kermit Gibbs of Louisville, Kentucky; daughter, Karen (Rickey) James of La Vergne; sister, Carolyn (Richard) Corprew of Estill Springs; brother, Hubert Jones of Los Angeles, California; grandchildren, Antwan, David, Jr., Brandon, Aaron (Ebonie), Angelina, Gabriel (Morgan), Deavron, Arryn, Reginald, Jennifer (Vinny), Jeramy, Jacobi (Justin) and Kermit, Jr. (Rachel); great-grandchildren, Trey, Henry, Zayden, Aria, and Dakota; devoted friend, Mary (Robert) Vanzant; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Visitation, Saturday, June 13, 2020 from 11:00am-1:00pm at Watson-North Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00pm with Minister Theresa Northcutt, officiating.
