Shirley Mae Rickman was born January 5, 1928 in Hardin County, TN, the daughter of the late Eathel Newton and Theodor Odell Young Tedford. She was united in marriage to Raymond Rickman on September 9, 1944. Mr. Rickman preceded her in death on October 5, 1996. She was a member of the Oakland Baptist Church in Corinth, Mississippi. Shirley was a devoted Christian woman, devoted and loving wife of 52 years, and devoted to her grandchildren. She helped raise her siblings and later her grandchildren, and loved it. Shirley worked for Brown Shoe Company for 12 years, was a homemaker and a wonderful seamstress. She was also an avid gardener.
Mrs. Rickman departed this life on May 23, 2018 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 90 Years, 4 Months, 18 Days.
She is survived by her children: Brenda Cosby and husband Jimmy of Selmer, TN, Larry Joe Rickman and wife Barbara of Olive Branch, MS, Nelson Rickman and wife Pat of Selmer, TN, Jana Shelby and husband Kevin of Savannah, TN; daughter-in-law, Martha Rickman of Selmer, TN; two sisters, Rebecca Roten and Dot Ingle both of Selmer, TN; eight grandchildren: Tim Cosby and wife Tracy, Todd Rickman, Mitzi Suggs and husband Jeff, Chad Rickman and wife Laura, Beth Baker and husband Bradley, Candi Baker and husband Derrick, Craig Taylor and companion Mollie Thacker, Kristin Shelby; sixteen great grandchildren: Matthew Cosby, Emma Cosby, Anna Cosby, Cade Suggs, Meg Suggs, Alex Rickman, Sidney Rickman, Bradon Rickman, Trey Rickman, Case Rickman, Kailey Baker, Lainey Baker, Shelby Baker, Kaden Taylor, Wade Taylor, Titus Taylor; two great great grandchildren, Liam and Otto Rickman; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Rickman was preceded in death by a son, Neal Ray Rickman; two sisters, Wilma Barber, Alice Tedford; five brothers: Lodie Tedford, Leonard Tedford, Paul Hayes Tedford, Joe E. Tedford, Raymond Tedford.
