Services for Mrs. Shirley Jean Grant were held Thursday, September 24, 2020 at 3:00 P.M. at the Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville and Rev. David Holcombe officiated. Burial followed at Fairview Poplar Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. Grant died Monday, September 21, 2020 at Clay County Hospital. She was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County. She enjoyed quilting and loved to take care of her family.
Survivors include her son; Sparky Dwayne Mitchell of Lineville, daughter; Shirley Michelle Mitchell(Willis Bailey) of Ashland, siblings; Jimmy Grogan(Lilo), Joann Hurst, Francis “Junebug” Grogan(Judy), Mary McClellan, and Billy Grogan(Janet).
She was preceded in death by her parents; Francis Grogan and Mildred Nevell Grogan, husband; Sparky Mitchell and husband; Ed Grant and sister; Peggy Hendon.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Williams, John Williams, Devon Williams, Dustin Moore, Cody Moore, Dwayne Hurst and Tanner Hurst.
Benefield Funeral of Lineville is in charge of the arrangements.
